This is it!

This is it!

Hi! Welcome to my blog! This is the first post I have written, so I'll start by introducing myself. My name is Sisa Haritatos, and I am lover of Jesus, a wife, mother of three, and a former elementary school teacher.  I was born and raised in central Kansas, the daughter of a farmer and a teacher.  My husband and I met at Kansas State University, and we were just babies when we married 20 years ago.  Since graduating from college, my husband's career has led us all over the United States, moving every few years from one spot to another.  You can probably imagine how exciting and also scary that is.  We've seen incredible things and made many lifelong friends.  My kids are all very adaptable, thank God!

However, my roots, my heart, and my soul have always belonged in Kansas.  The wide open fields that are seas of grass.  The wind whipping my hair and kissing my cheeks.  The storm-filled skies with the BEST sunsets in the world.  And the colors: more shades of green than you ever knew possible, golden, bronzed grasses, and peachy pinks kissing the cloud tops.  Hilltop Farm.  The farm that my great-grandfather started when he immigrated from Sweden and was later lovingly nurtured by my grandfather, my father, and now also my oldest brother.   Now I return to that place, even if it's just in my heart and mind.  It gives me inspiration and a sense of calm every time I sit in my studio. Even when I am painting a scene from our travels around the world, the influence of the Kansas prairie shines through.

My hope is that as I begin this journey, you will see the world from the lens of the Hilltop, just as I do.

xo,

Sisa
